PERSONAL FALL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT - PFPE INSPECTIONS

Find out more

What is Fall Protection? Ensuring Safety at Heights

Implementing fall protection measures is crucial for preventing employees from falling or ensuring that, if a fall occurs, it is arrested safely without causing severe injury. These safety controls are essential when working at heights and in environments with potential fall hazards such; as working on poles, edges near pits, holes, or steep surfaces. Effective fall protection systems safeguard workers, reduce risks, and ensure compliance with safety regulations, thereby protecting both individuals and businesses from potential hazards.

Customised PFPE Inspection Services | Expert Harness and Lanyard Inspection

At ProGuard Consulting, we take a tailored approach to every client, ensuring our PFPE Inspection services align with your specific needs and challenges. All Personal Fall Protective Equipment (PFPE) is thoroughly inspected and tested to meet the BSEN 365:2004 standard, guaranteeing compliance and safety.

Key inspection guidelines:

  • Harness and Lanyard Inspections: Visual inspections should ideally be conducted every 6 months, with full inspections and certification carried out annually.
  • PFPE Lifespan: Every piece of PFPE including; safety harnesses, lanyards, climbing helmets, karabiners, and ropes has a defined lifespan. Equipment that exceeds its lifespan must be replaced to ensure user safety.
  • PFPE Register: A comprehensive PFPE register should be maintained, documenting inspection dates and certifications, and made readily available for operatives to review.

In addition to meeting legal requirements for documented evidence of inspections, we recommend that all PFPE equipment be visually checked before each use for signs of wear, damage, or deterioration. Our customised approach ensures your PFPE systems remain safe, compliant, and fit for purpose, providing peace of mind and protecting your workforce.
